Senate Resolution 56
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CHOCTAW CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL LADY WARRIORS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 1998-99 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE STATE AA CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Choctaw Central High School Lady Warriors Girls Basketball Team completed the 1998-99 season with an outstanding 37-1 record, which culminated in winning the State AA Championship; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors' awesome season included the following tournament victories: Grazier-Yarborough Invitational Tournament, Philadelphia Invitational Tournament, Neshoba Central Invitational Tournament, Division 5AA Tournament, South Mississippi State AA Tournament and the State AA Tournament Championship; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors were ably coached by Willis Tullos who fine-tuned the athletic skills and team effort of each player; and
WHEREAS, the following outstanding players on the Lady Warriors team received honor designations: Johnita Conrad, All-State, All-South Mississippi and All-District Teams; Randi Williams, All-State, All-South Mississippi and All-District Teams; Marie Wilson, All-State, All-South Mississippi and All-District Teams; Lahoma Conrad, All-District Team; and Melinda Ben, All-South Mississippi Team; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this fine group of student athletes whose school has a longstanding tradition of championship tournament performance, and who continue to bring honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Choctaw Central High School Lady Warriors Girls Basketball Team for their outstanding 1998-99 season and for winning the State AA Tournament Championship, and wish them continued success in their athletic, academic and career endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be presented to Coach Tullos and to the Principal of Choctaw Central High School and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
